Guardian for Children and Young People

The Guardian is appointed to advocate and promote the rights and best interests of the children and young people under the guardianship of the Minister for Education, Training and Skills. The Guardian responds to concerns raised by children and young people in care themselves or by their advocates (individual advocacy). The Guardian will also investigate any matter of concern in relation to services provided (systems advocacy).
