The Guardianship Board will generally commence hearing an application within four to six weeks of receiving the application (earlier if possible). However, if the matter requires urgent attention the Board should be advised of the nature of the urgency so that it can act more quickly. In an emergency the Board is available 24 hours a day throughout the year to respond. A 24 hour roster is maintained to deal with emergency applications.
